| SPR full review |
18/07/05 |

I finally recieved my scope my mount for my SPR after deciding on a Guarder Cantilever mount. This means I can finally fully assemble the rifle as I originally envisaged it. I disassembled the gun the other day and messed around with the hop to improve stability.
I hope to finish my review and post a few pics of the finished rifle by the end of this week.

| G&G UMG |
14/07/05 |
G&G has announced the latest in its range of new releases, the UMG. This is basically a copy of the UMP 45 and it should sell very well considering the last release of the UMP 45 was the STAR copy which was damn hard to get hold of! It has starred in several Hollywood blockbusters such as Bad Boys 2 and Mr and Mrs Smith.
G&G's UMG has a threaded barrel and silencer included which is interesting as its one of the few AEGs released with a silencer, Tokyo Marui's P90 being the only other one? The UMG also features a folding stock, 600-700 round magazine (!), a brand new gear-box and a lock back bolt system.
The lock back bolt system opens up the dust cover and allows access to the hop up adjustment. The system can then be released forward by pressing a button on the reciever which releases the "bolt" forward with a meaty sounding "clack"!
The images from Redwolf show a fully RIS'd up front end which should make for easy attachment of torches and other accessories.
G&G claim the gearbox problems that plagued their previous releases have been solved by the new gear-box released in the UMG.
All this just leaves one wondering what the cost will be? Watch this space for more info and a review.

| Save our Sport! |
14/06/05 |

The Government are trying to bring in a new bill that will effectively kill the airsoft sport in the UK. As part of the
Violent Crime Reduction Bill the sale, manufacture, import and distribution of ALL replica firearms in the UK will be prohibited.
A website has been set up that aims to gather airsofters, retailers, game sites and collectors under one banner so we can present a unified strength to the government and show them the size of the community they'd destroy if airsoft is prohibited under this bill.
Please visit the website and sign the petition. Airsoft needs your help!!!

| Barrett M82A1 |
02/06/05 |
GB-tech have said they are releasing their version of the M82A1 around mid June. It is a gas operated, semi automatic, 8mm rifle with a 40 round magazine capacity. The magazine has two dummy 0.5" rounds which you load the bbs into. One of these rounds is visible when the breach is open and this looks really realistic. The price is said to be around $1280 USD. keep an eye on WGCshop for the latest news on it.

Not too much has happened on the gun scene over here at the moment. My SPR MK12 mod 0 is waiting for a rebuild, as its current performance is awful! I attempted to create a better seal between the hop unit and the air nozzle using PTFE tape... needless to say it went horribly wrong and it now shoots about 260 FPS! I'm going to buy the correct air nozzle for the gun and hopefully this will solve the problem.
I recently bought a second hand Tokyo Marui M3 super 90 to replace my old one which died. When I first fired it I was a bit gutted that the accuracy and range were no where near as good as my previous model however a quick barrel cleaning revealed a lot of dirt and after this was removed the performance went up considerably.
My Sig 552 is sat in my room waiting while I decide whether or not to upgrade it to a full metal body. I'm waiting to see what Guarder bring out for it because they've had "Marui 552 enhancement proceedings" at the bottom of their list of things to do for a while.
My VSR 10 G-Spec has had a PSS10 120 spring and PSS10 barrel spacers put in. It now chronos at 367 FPS which brings it into a sensible power range that maintains the guns reliability yet improves its effectiveness as a sniper weapon. The barrel spacers and a switch to Maruzen Super grand masters have turned this into THE most accurate airsoft gun I have ever used. It really does have obscene accuracy. I can plink coke cans consistently from 40 meters and can even do it in a gentle breeze due to the heavy weight of the rounds (0.29g).
I'm looking into a new hammer spring and recoil spring for my Hi-Capa to see if I can squeeze a little more performance from it.

| Tokyo Marui Beretta M93R AEP |
16/05/05 |
Tokyo Marui's next airsoft electric pistol (AEP) release will be the Beretta M93R. It will be released with a 40 round magazine, which is longer than the G18Cs. It will use the same 7.2V batteries as the G18C and will retail for slightly more at around £125. It is scheduled for a release in June. Up to today there's been no news about it on the Tokyo Marui website but I'd guess it'll be fixed slide.

| Snake Automatic Weapon |
13/04/05 |
Pursuits have released news about their Snake automatic weapons. These are a series of high performance, variable calibre, gas operated airsoft machine guns. They come in 3 forms;
the 4.5mm Viper, 6mm Sidewinder, and 8mm Python all with varying mag capacities and muzzle velocities. The one that will interest most of us is the 6mm Sidewinder. This beauty has a magazine capacity of 1600 bbs but you'll be needing it because the gun is full auto only and has a rate of fire of 90 rounds per second (5400 a minute)! It uses either CO2 or high pressure air to power it. Pricing for the Sidewinder comes in at $1495.
Check out this impressive video of the sidewinder obliterating targets.

| Troy industries M14 AEG |
11/04/05 |
Intruder Shop have posted an image of their new M14 with plenty of external tune ups. Now I'm not a fan of the M14 but if this image is anything to go by this will look damn nice! It's a SOPMOD thing so for those of you who don't care for the RIS generation you'll probably want to look away. It has an RRP of 134,400 (about £650) Yen and is scheduled for release at the end of May. I look forward to seeing this.
