Colt Hi-Capa O-ring
30/09/04

I was looking at the o-ring replacement guide, and I was wondering
where I can get a replacement o-ring.  Should I just go to the
hardware shop and ask for a size smaller?

Also, if i replace this o-ring AND get a metral slide (when it comes
out), will it be able to stand up better to the abuse of propane/green
gas?

What I think:
Your best bet for a new O-ring would definitely be to go to a hardware store, you can take your old O-ring in with you so you know exactly what your looking for. You're looking for a slightly thicker o-ring, this will give you a better seal within the cylinder and some people have claimed it gives a crisper blowback action. On the topic of green gas what you're really looking to do is protect the rubber o-ring from corrosion by the chemicals in the green gas, you can do this by making sure the o-ring is rubbed in silicone grease before fitting it.

Motor trouble
09/09/04
i have a marui g3 sas, i got a m100 spring , and high torque gear upgrade from airsoft extreme. they sent my gun back and i shot it. when i did it seemed that the motor was moving inside the grip. they told me to tighten the hex nut. i did, the problem still exists. the gun fires normaly.

could it be that the reasembled my gun wrong or do i need a new eg 1000?
it fires great but could this lead to a gear stripping or any other problem?

What I think:
I don't think it's anything to worry about. Can you hear the motor moving inside the grip? If it is it'll normally be a tapping sound just when you pull the trigger. The G3 series of guns do not hold the motor in place as tightly as the Colt weapons or the AK series so it is common to get a bit of movement with the motor. When the motor isn't moving it normally mean that the wires that run to the bottom of it have lodged themselves between the motor and the inside of the pistol grip thus stopping any movement. Basically if the gear mesh sound nice and crisp and clean then you have no problem but if there is a slight grinding noise then you have a problem, which will eventually wear the gears down. If you are hearing a grinding noise slowly adjust the grub screw and fire a single shot each time you adjust until there is no more grinding but remember to use thread lock because I have seen airsoft guns where the user has had to retighten the grub screw after every magazine because it kept slipping loose and that wasn't even in an old gun!

The other question is are you using a higher voltage battery now you've upgraded your internals? Because sometimes that can make the tapping of the motor a bit louder because the motor has increased torque.
